Advocating for Rural Healthcare Protection

TRHA, National Rural Health Association Texas Organization of Rural & Community Hospitals the TLL Temple Foundation and fellow rural advocates are uniting at the NRHA Policy Institute to advocate for policies that protect rural healthcare, strengthen the healthcare workforce, and improve access to care across Texas.

This week at the NRHA Policy Institute, we are amplifying rural health challenges and solutions to engage policymakers—elevating your rural voices to ensure decision-makers understand the urgent issues facing our communities.

  • Texas’ rural health infrastructure is at risk
  • 32% of rural hospitals face potential closure.
  • 159 of 168 rural counties lack sufficient primary care providers.
  • 19 rural hospitals have closed since 2010.

At TRHA, we believe that collaboration is the key to driving meaningful change in healthcare. By working together, we can amplify our collective impact and help voice the pressing challenges faced by rural communities.
