Rural Health Advocacy Success: Texas Delegates Attend NRHA Policy Institute
The TRHA joined rural health leaders from across the country at the National Rural Health Association Rural Health Policy Institute in Washington, D.C.
This year, the Texas delegation included 20 participants representing a broad cross-section of rural health stakeholders. Together, the group participated in 10 Congressional appointments, engaging directly with federal offices on issues impacting rural communities across our state.
Texas was represented by rural hospitals, health systems, academic institutions, foundations, technology partners, and statewide rural health leaders. The diversity of expertise reflected the strength and coordination of the rural health ecosystem in Texas.
During Capitol Hill visits, conversations focused on rural hospital sustainability, workforce recruitment and retention, infrastructure challenges, and maintaining access to care in rural communities.
TRHA values its ongoing partnership with NRHA and the role it plays in elevating Texas perspectives within national rural health discussions.
Through coordinated engagement, shared resources, and leadership development opportunities, this partnership strengthens alignment between national priorities and the realities facing rural communities in Texas.
