Governor’s Proclamation: Rural Health Day in Texas is Official!

We are thrilled to announce that Governor Greg Abbott has officially proclaimed November 21st as Rural Health Day in Texas! This milestone reflects the dedication and collaborative efforts of rural health advocates and champions across the state and nation.

As part of a nationwide initiative to secure proclamations in all 50 states, TRHA worked in partnership with the National Rural Health Association(NRHA), the NOSORH, and the Texas Department of Agriculture’s State Office of Rural Health (SORH). Together, we are amplifying the voices of rural communities and raising awareness of the critical importance of equitable healthcare access.

This proclamation is more than a recognition—it’s a celebration of rural healthcare providers and organizations and a reminder of the work still to be done to support rural communities.
